LP-38 Striker

A three man armed in-system atmosphere capable pursuit / patrol ship of the Long Patrol.

The LP-38 Striker is built around a single MAS 88 Lacaroon grav drive/ degenerate mass jet built around a single "hot cycle" entropy chamber rated for forty eight gallons converted per second and equipped with external raw matter intakes. The Lacaroon system and lack of a transit drive allows the LP-38 an extreme normal space drive capability with a remarkably high power to mass ratio.

The LP-38 comes equipped with a wide band ansible, low output loiter capability and a set of two integrated 1.1 CM hellbores in fixed wing mounts, four 9mm "tagger" mass drivers mounted forward of the main top side sensor dome and four TIW Mire grav lensed EUV lasers with limited traverse in every variant. The standard MAS corvette class Rikki "pulsed" battle screen is also equipped in the vast majority of variants allowing the LP-38 a solid though not notable defense.   

A set of control surfaces and rudimentary aerodynamic form compliment a full contra grav lift system when operating in low output mode in atmosphere.  Six multi role rearward facing launchers mid hull launch a variety of mission payload, an integrated mission bay is in the center line dorsal area, this can carry a duo of revolver missile mounts or a variety of appropriate mission or variant support packages.

Though not intended for a front line combat role in a war time capital ship heavy environment, and lacking an integrated transit drive the effective output of her dual hellbores allows the LP-38 to "clean the road ahead" by opening there chokes to maximum in extremis.
